band @ WGms and HHS
Band is an elective course offered at both Walnut Grove MS and Midlothian Heritage High School. Anyone can join band, regardless of musical ability or experience. The band curriculum in Midlothian ISD is meant to be a 7 year sequence that begins in the 6th grade, and continues through 12th grade. The BEST time to join band as a beginner is in the 6th grade, so if you are on the fence about joining, give it a try! In high school, students will join the Mighty Jaguar Band, and receive both athletic and fine arts credits!
Year 1: Beginning Band (WGMS)
Year 2-3: Symphonic Band or Honors Band (WGMS)
Year 4-7: Mighty Jaguar Band (HHS)
